Types of potential projects

Ultimately, city council and city attorneys will define how propositions appear on the ballot, but there are some general guidelines.

  • You can’t group all projects into one proposition

  • “Like” propositions can be grouped together (i.e. all parks projects can be on one proposition)

For the purpose of discussion today, projects have been grouped into four different categories.

  1. Parks and Trails

  2. Facilities and Public Safety

  3. Infrastructure: Roads, Drainage, Sidewalks

  4. Downtown and Community Revitalization

When prioritizing projects, the BBAC ranked each potential project in one of three tiers.

Tier 3 does not necessarily mean projects aren’t important. Rather, these projects might be paid for elsewhere, or they simply aren’t as urgent, or might not be ready to consider in this bond.
