Downtown and Community Revitalization projects

Beaumont’s Strategic Plan and Community Investment Plan (CIP) outline clear goals for a vibrant, thriving downtown and riverfront area, and the CIP includes seven projects to transform downtown. After discussing 11 potential downtown projects, two stood out to the BBAC for inclusion in a potential bond.

These projects aim to bring in tourism dollars, generate year-round economic activity, and provide spaces for entertainment, play, and gathering places for citizens.

Separately, the city is negotiating a possible public-private partnership with developers that could lead to a downtown convention center and hotel, among other things. The 2-3 projects the BBAC is considering would complement the downtown development agreement ─ if it comes to pass ─ but also stand alone on their own merits.
